Week 19 - That Nyquil Hit Different 🥴

Hi!
You may remember from last email, I had a cold, was struggling to sleep a bit, and got some Nyquil from wally world (walmart). Well for some extra detail, I had probably slept about 3 hours a night the past couple nights, and not very well the nights prior to that either, partially due to being on an air mattress in Thompson for a week. So the same night I wrote the last post I took some Nyquil for my cold and prayed I'd get some sleep. WELL, I didn't just sleep. I was knocked out. I was gone. I temporarily left this mortal plane of existence, and didn't return until 11-12 hours later. Correction, I woke up at 7am to a district call, that lasted about 10 minutes, and then I passed out again till 10am. We're supposed to wake up at 6:30, but Nyquil + compounded sleep deprivation = bodily function reduced to absolute minimum. The good news is, now I feel great! My ability to sleep is still very inconsistent, but the cold is gone and I'm at least sleeping more than 3 hours a night.

We've been pretty busy this week! We finally got to go to the Pas library again, and they had us hide little paper snowflakes for a scavenger hunt they're doing! So that was super fun. We've also been reaching out to a lot of people on Facebook, and have passed out quite a few free pictures of Jesus and free Bibles. On Saturday we had a belated branch Christmas/New Years party! It was super super fun and it was their first big event since covid. There was a really good showing, and our good friend Rob was able to make it too! We also had a housing inspection, which I'm pretty sure we did well on, and we'll probably be having a meal with Elder and Sister Long soon as they are visiting Flin Flon this weekend 😄

Some other fun stuff to share, a friend in Thompson did a super awesome doodle of me! So that's so cool. Also, one of my friends from the MTC found a google drive full of guitar and piano sheet music!!! Finding music to play is one of the hardest parts of any instrument, and these google drives are so so awesome. they're organized by topic, religious and non religious, and they have really really good stuff!!

Last little bit to share this week, we'll be getting transfer news a week from today! In my interview with president, it sounded like a 50/50 whether I'll stay in Flin Flon for another transfer. I told him I'd be happy either way. I'd love to stay in Flin Flon for one more, as you know I love Flin Flon, but I'd also be ok with trying something new. I have an odd feeling that something new could be CTK but we'll see. I'm not sure if I'd want to go to CTK, there's a lot of... less desirable aspects of it. But that's kinda why I feel like I'll get sent there lol. On the plus side, they have a pet cat. If you've ever met me, you know I love animals, especially cats and dogs. So I would really love to have a pet cat on the mission. I've jokingly asked to get a cat for the Flin Flon apartment (with a very clear no being the answer), but CTK gets to have a cat because they live in a mobile home with a mice problem. So part of me wants to go to CTK just for the cat, and the rest of me thinks I'd be better off in a big city. I guess the only way to find out is to wait and see!

Either way, it's a great day to be a missionary!

(P.S. - the plants at the Pas library have names which is super cute. The one next to the globe is Libby and the one with the snowflake on it is Fritz)
