Week 18 - Happy New Year!
woah... I haven't posted since last year! badum chh.
Hey everyone! This week has been pretty odd. As you know from last week, our car was having problems. We finally got our car back Thursday, and drove back to Flin Flon Friday morning. Hanging out in Thompson was pretty fun! We were able to do a lot of cool stuff while we were there. One day while we were just having a companionship study in the church, a random guy walked in out of no where. None of us knew who he was, but he seemed really distraught. Luckily we were able to talk to him and help him with what he was struggling with! It's a miracle he showed up when he did, because just about any other time that day the church doors would have been locked with no one there. Even though I was a little bugged to be stuck in Thompson, I was really glad I was there to help this man!
Friday was fun because we made it back to Flin Flon, and hosted our weekly game night like we usually do, and president Garret brought a bunch of his friends that play Magic: the Gathering! That was a lot of fun. Saturday was New Years Eve and we got dinner at Kelsey's Dinning Room! One of the members in Flin Flon gave us gift certificates so we were able to get a nice dinner for New Years at a really good price!

Sunday evening we had a mission devotional to talk about our goals and plans for the new year, which was supper cool! I'm really excited to see all the good we'll do this year! Also, I'm sick again! I got a cold again, and got basically no sleep Saturday or Sunday night. Kinda a rough way to start the new year but it's ok, I got some Nyquil from Walmart today that should solve my problems.
OH AND HOW COULD I FORGET? We saw the northern lights!! FINALLY! Elder Long was able to take us out past our usual bedtime hours so that we could see them while we were up in Thompson. They were so cool!

To close I just want to say 2022 was an amazing year. I've made so many new friends, and had so many unforgettable experiences in the past year. Thank you to everyone who's been a part of my life the past year. Each and every one of you hold an irreplaceable piece of my heart. I'm so blessed to have so many amazing friends and family. Lets make 2023 even better! It's a great year to be a missionary :D
Lots of love,
Elder Hays
