Week 17 - Merry Christmas!!
Merry Christmas! I hope everyone has had a wonderful Christmas, and has a Happy New Year π
This week has been an interesting one for me. As you know, last Monday we were on our way to Winnipeg. Well, a few hours after writing that post, our car started having problems. The check engine light came on, a notification came up saying "low engine power," and the car couldn't get up to full speed. So we drove the rest of the way to Winnipeg going 10 under the speed limit, and dropped the car off at the dealership so that they could look at it in the morning.
Tuesday was Zone Conference which was super fun! We had a white elephant gift exchange, and I got a new hat and some new gloves! We also played games, made graham cracker houses (like gingerbread houses but cheaper), had a talent show, and just hung out with other missionaries. It was super fun, and by the end of the the dealership called and told us we could come get our car!

Wednesday morning we got our car, and drove all day back to Thompson without any problems. The repair info said there was water in a bunch of places it shouldn't be, so they added a grill cover and cleaned it all out. We stayed the night in Thompson, and started driving back to Flin Flon the next morning. Half way there, it happened again. Check engine light, low engine power, slow car, exact same issue. With not many options, we finished our drive to Flin Flon, and decided we'd just drive a slow car till we got back to Thompson where there's a dealership. We drove back to Thompson Saturday morning, and discovered that the dealership is closed until Wednesday. So me and Elder Hyder will be stuck here for a while. That's ok though because Christmas here was awesome! We had a little Christmas program, played games, did another white elephant, and ate lots of really good food! Speaking of the Christmas program, me and Elder Hyder were asked to perform, and were given 2 hours to prepare. So we learned the song Far Away by ear in 2 hours, and surprisingly it wasn't a complete train wreck! It wasn't amazing, but it was passable. I'd grade our performance a C.

That's about it for this week! Even through car troubles, it's a great day to be a missionary!

(P.S. - I bought a nerf gun today. In my defense, it was on clearance for half off, and Elder Hyder already has one, so now I can fight back lol.)
