Week 21 - First Week in Steinbach
Wow it's been a busy week! Tuesday night we got to stay in ELDER MENDENHALL's apartment!! Which was so fun. Then Wednesday I arrived in Steinbach, we did service for the food bank here, and did some planning for the transfer. Thursday was my first full day here, we met a lot of the members, made plans for the ESL Facebook page, and did our other regular missionary activities. Oh, and that's something I didn't realize before coming here. The Steinbach Elders (which is us now) are in charge of the ESL Facebook page!

I'm looking forward to using my social media knowhow to make the page look much more professional than it does now. Right now, a lot of the videos are very cheesy, have poor audio quality, and use PowerPoint slides instead of any real video editing software. I have a lot to fix lol. We've already planned a lot of cool new stuff though, so follow the page and look forward to seeing that soon!
The rest of the week was pretty normal, but the chapel is a bit odd. Every chapel I've been to so far has its own building. But this one is in a strip mall, next to a subway and a surprisingly decent burrito place. Also, our apartment is absolutely huge compared to the Flin Flon apartment. Oh, oh and get this, Elder Sylvester found a Gameboy Color at a thrift store that we volunteer at! He let me take it and I'm going to send it back to my brother Freddy for his birthday in July!

Today was fun too, we hung out with the other missionaries in our district, played volleyball, went to my favorite ramen place for dinner, and I'm learning how to crochet a little from Elder Schwartzberg! I'm gonna make a scarf. When we got back to Steinbach, we had a lesson with our friend Muhammad! This was my first time meeting him in person, but we got him on date for baptism!! Muhammad is so amazing. He's so faithful, diligent, and just ready. He's so ready to be baptized. His story is really interesting, he comes from a pretty dark past, but he's worked to turn away from it. Walking to and from work each day, he'd always see an old man sitting on a bench at the park. One day, he felt like he needed to sit next to him and talk to him, so he did. That old man is a member of the church here in Steinbach! They talked, became friends, talked about God, and he invited Muhammad to talk to the missionaries! He's been meeting with missionaries for a while now, and he's amazing. He'll be having his baptism on February 19th!
That's all for now! It's a great day to be a missionary!
