Week 23 - Book of Mormon Speed Reader
Hello!
Sorry I didn't post last week! I mostly just forgot lol.
The past couple weeks have been pretty good though! The week I didn’t email, we got to teach a high school class which was super cool! It was a world religions class, and the teacher reached out to us and asked if we could be guest speakers! We talked about who Joseph Smith is, and how and why he translated the Book of Mormon! After that we had QnA time which was super cool as well! The students had a lot of really good questions that I hope we did a good job answering! One of the students asked for a copy of the Book of Mormon, which we got to her later that day, and she read the whole thing in just over a week!! Fastest Book of Mormon read ever! We’re hoping to meet with her again soon so that we can talk more about it! She texted us to let us know she really liked it!

Something else we did the past two weeks, we made 2 new videos for the ESL facebook page! I used to edit videos a lot for my YouTube channel back home, and I missed it! Editing videos is fun! I’m definitely capable of making much higher quality videos than these ones, but there are a lot of limitations I’m facing as well. The laptop I’m editing on is so ridiculously slow, the preview window in Filmora barely works. So I don’t really know what the video looks like till after it’s been exported, which takes a few hours. Also, the only cameras we have are our phones, it’s hard to find anywhere that has decent lighting, and our phones record in hvec format which this laptop is seemingly allergic to. On the plus side, there’s a tripod, and a nice lapel microphone that we can use! So it’s not all bad. We’re looking to make 2 more of those listening practice videos in the coming weeks, as well as a commercial promoting ESL. When I get back in two years, I definitely want to get back into editing YouTube videos. I forgot how much I enjoy it lol.

Today was pretty fun too. We took a district trip to Ikea and messed around there. It was funny making jokes about the names of things, talking about what kitchen designs we liked, and trying to read the Swedish books with no success. We also took a bathroom selfie together, in one of the bathroom display areas, which was silly too. Afterwards we had ice cream 😋.

Oh also, it was a lot warmer today! It finally got above 32 Fahrenheit for a little while! So that was nice. That’s it for now! It’s a great day to be a missionary!
