Week 30 - 80 people o.0

Hey guys! My weekly posts have been kinda bi-weekly lately huh? Sorry about that! With more happening on p days it’s easy to forget to write them! The past 2 weeks have been good though! We got to go to the temple which was super nice! It was my first time in the Winnipeg Temple and it’s pretty cool! Although, it’s way way smaller than the San Diego temple. Nothing wrong with that of course. We also had a pretty cool miracle this week!

On Tuesday we had exchanges, so I stayed in Steinbach with Elder Winn, and Elder Sylvester spent a day in Winnipeg with Elder Peterson. Elder Winn and I set a goal to make 1 new friend while he was here. We had a really productive day and worked very hard, but with only one hour left in the day we hadn’t made any new friends. So, we decided to pray and ask how we could make a new friend in the next hour. After praying we thought for a moment, decided we wouldn’t find anyone just sitting around so we got in the car, and decided to look through our area book to see who we might be able to stop by. If you don’t know what area book is, it’s an app we use for managing our schedule, and it keeps track of people who have been in contact with the missionaries previously. So there’s members, friends (green dots), potential friends (yellow dots), a bunch of categories for people we haven’t talked to in awhile (gray dots), and “don’t contacts” (red dots). Looking through our area book, the name Karli stood out to Elder Winn. She was a gray dot, and I said “well, I haven’t met her, but let's change that!” I felt good about trying to visit her too. So we went to her house, knocked on her door… And to my surprise she answered! I told her straightforwardly that we had an extra hour of our day, and prayed asking who to visit, and her name stood out to us and that’s why we were there. Elder Winn followed saying that we liked to have spiritual discussions and would be happy to share an uplifting message of hope. She was happy to see us and welcomed us in! She told us that she’d been struggling lately with quite a few things, and that day especially had been stressful and hadn’t gone as planned. We had a good discussion with her, and she herself testified that we had really been sent by God, and were an answer to her prayers. It was a super awesome experience, and we made our one new friend! We’re hoping to meet again with her soon!

Also, our tiny Steinbach Branch building had 80+ people at sacrament meeting this week! Every seat was taken, and we were packed into the building like a can of sardines!! Hopefully they’ll get a new building in the next year or two because they definitely need it.

Not much else to share, but we did stop at this little sign that is apparently the Center of Canada so that's kinda fun!

That's all for now, it's a great day to be a missionary!
