Week 34 - The Start of a Very Musical Transfer
Hiya! The past couple weeks have been pretty awesome! We're in the first week of a new transfer now, Elder Sylvester got sent to Moosejaw with Elder Evans and my new companion here in Steinbach is Elder Nuttal! Elder Nuttal is super awesome! He's really good at music production, and we already made a Cover of a song called "Eden".
Some stuff from last week while Elder Sylvester was still here:
We got Bigg Smoak with President Carr! It was super fun talking to them and eating at our favorite spot.
Also, one of the members here got a new Kitten. His name is Tyrone and he's my new best friend ❤️
Aaaand last but not least, we had a run in with the police today! Super blessed it went the way it did though. I got a big paragraph text from my mom, and so worried it might be important I was briefly on my phone while stopped at a light. Surprise surprise, a police car pulls up next to us, yells through the window asking if I'm on my phone, and then says to meet him at the station in 30 minutes. This was odd because legally speaking if he wanted to give us a ticket he should have pulled us over, and we had no legal obligation to meet him at the station like he requested (we know this because we went online and checked.) But upon getting back to the apartment to drop off the groceries that were in our car, I realized I didn't have my temporary Manitoba driver's license with me. So it wouldn't have been very good if he had pulled us over then and there. So we decided to go ahead and meet him at the station like he asked, I felt like it was the honest and respectful thing to do plus we were very lucky he didn't pull us over. We talked a bit, he asked me a few questions a scolded me a little, and let us off with a warning. Again, huge blessing. Apparently the ticket would have been over $600 😰
So yeah, that's all for now! I'm super excited for this transfer, we're going to have a lot of fun doing music stuff. I've already started writing my first original song, we'll see how that goes! It's a great day to be a missionary!!
