Week 47 - How's it hangin?
Hey everyone! Sorry I missed last week, as usual transfer week is chaotic, and I had to re-settle into the apartment, so I didn't feel like writing. It's the same apartment ad before, but now that Elder Tanner had left and it's just 2 of us again, I was able to finally move my stuff into a closet and drawers rather than living out of my suitcase! So that's been nice.
Anyway, this week was AWESOME. We made a new friend, his name is Jason and he's SO elect. He's been off of narcotics for 4 years now and he's trying so so hard to better himself and grow his relationship God. He has a wife that used to attend church but hasn't in a long time. He's urging her to join him but she hasn't opened up yet, nor have we had the chance to meet her. It's so cool teaching Jason though, it's easy to see how far he's come.
Also, we made a new friend named Summer, and we put her on date for baptism!!! She is also so so awesome. She went to a LDS youth camp as a kid, and remembered the experiences and feelings she had there and realized she needed more of that in her life! She reached out to us asking for a Book of Mormon and in the first lesson the spirit was SO STRONG. I asked her if she'd like to set a date for when to be baptized as a goal to work towards, and she said yes!! Unfortunately, it was also a pass off lesson. Since she's 19 and female, it's better for the YSA Sisters to work with her. So I won't have the pleasure of teaching her the rest of the lessons, but it'll be awesome seeing her at church every week and hearing about her progress! If I'm lucky maybe she'll choose me to baptize her π
Some other fun things this week, Elder Knapp is an awesome district leader! He's so fun and is trying to hard to unify the district and encourage everyone to work hard. Today we had a district breakfast together! We all ate breakfast burritos π― π
We're not allowed to cook in the church building's kitchen because of fire code stuff, so in order to get around that we bought a camp stove to cook outside π

Also, Amazon Prime day was this week and we had the wonderful idea to get hammocks. They have arrived and we will now be doing our personal and companionship studies in hammocks. Best idea ever.

Some other high notes: we got a zoom lens for the mission camera, we got free slurpees on 7/11, I found a wireless lapel microphone on Facebook Marketplace for a super super good deal and got it, at church I gave a talk and everyone really liked it!
That's all for now! It's a great day to be a missionary!!
