Week 50 - Oh boy…

Hey everyone! This week was pretty hectic. You know that Hope Ahead Facebook page? Sooo we're the video team as I'm sure you know by now. And we have a schedule of 1 low effort reel every Saturday, and then 1 high effort video every month. Well, last month we completely neglected the second half of that schedule. While we had an idea for what video we wanted to make, we never actually planned or filmed anything. All we had was a script. So at the end of the month when our bosses were like "hey, how's that video coming?" We were like uuuuhhhhh… first week of next month? So yeah we planned, filmed, and edited the whole thing in 3.5 days and I lost a lot of sleep to make it happen. Here's how it turned out:

To my surprise, the response was super super positive even though it was extremely rushed! So that's cool. Another cool event this week, we had our lesson with Solomon! The spirit was super strong, and he was very attentive for an 11 year old boy! His parents are also so awesome. They were a great help during the lesson, and when we were done we opened some Pokémon booster packs which was so fun!

Today was pretty fun too! Elder Thompson had some friends from home visiting which was a bit of a surprise. I was thinking, wait, is that allowed? But apparently President approved it since none of them are members so it's also a bit of a missionary opportunity, plus it was just for p day so it's not getting in the way of any normal work. So that's fun! We got Denny's for breakfast and played spike ball with them. Spike ball– is awesome. I gotta get a net when I get home.

Oh and you're probably wondering about the header of the email! So this is fun. The church building is closed for renovations for the next 2 weeks starting today. No biggie, we can meet and work elsewhere when needed. On top of that, the Sunrise Elders' car is going into the shop for the next week and a half. Oh, and the Wascana Elders' too. Their car is already in the shop. So 2 out of 3 of the Elder companionships are without a car this week. The Sunrise Elders have gotten permission to stay in our apartment for the week, so that it's easier to share our car and coordinate. We'll also have to help the Wascana Elders with getting places as much as we can. All of that is a bit stressful, but it's not even the worst part. Or at least, not the general stuff. There's one specific thing I'm mildly concerned about. Elder Ronnow (one of the Sunrise Elders) and Elder Knapp (my companion) have an… interesting sort of chemistry. In short, they're crackhead crazy when they're in the same room. And I'll be in an apartment with them for a week… wish me luck. Honestly, I don't think it'll be that bad. They actually seem really determined to work hard this week. So it'll probably be ok… probably. We'll see, lol.

That's all for now! It's a great day to be a missionary!
