Week 60 - πͺ
Hey guys! Not gonna lie, this week was tough. It was long and exhausting, but we pushed through and got good work done! We now have 3 people on date for baptism, and we started teaching 6 new people this week!
Building Chairs
We also had a pretty cool experience involving some chairs. Yeah, chairs. Just hear me out! We had a lesson cancel because they were feeling sick, so we stopped by just to drop off a little treat and wish them good health. Afterwards we had a decent chunk of free time, and Elder Pomares felt very impressed to knock on someone's door just down the street. We did so, and the guy who answered was a bit rude and uninterested. Elder Pomares felt a bit down from that, as he was super sure that he felt a spiritual prompting to knock that door. I suggested we keep moving, and there was a house that caught my eye just across the street. It was a duplex, so we knocked both sides. Both families were fairly friendly, but they weren't very interested in Jesus either. As we're walking back to the car, we perfectly crossed paths with someone who was on an evening stroll. We were going to just walk by, but she greeted us and said "Hey! The Mormons, right?" We started talking and when I asked if there was anyone nearby who could use some extra hope in their life, she pondered for a moment and asked, "want to help me build some chairs?" I figured "Big Legos? Sign me up!" So, we walked with her to her home and helped her build some chairs! As we were doing so, we got talking and it turns out, she has a ton of friends that are members of the church! In fact, one of them she considered to be the "most influential person in her life." She was really fun to talk to and she might start attending church soon!
What makes that story so interesting? All of the puzzle pieces that fit together to make it happen. We had a lesson cancel, felt prompted to stay on the street longer, and caught her en route of an evening walk. Also, she lived like a mile away. So how we happened to catch her where we did is pretty surprising. Also, she's been prepared and familiarized with the gospel for years! It's pretty clear to me that God guided us to her. On top of that, we got to build some chairs! π

Outcasts
Some unfortunate news, our district is carving pumpkins today and we're getting left out. So that kinda bugs. But who needs them? We're gonna go record and produce some banger songs today and it'll be sick!
The power of dawn dish soap
Did you guys know that dawn dish soap can be used as a stain remover?? Basically, all of my pants save 1 pair have been stained for the past month, and I've been procrastinating trying to remove them. Well, turns out all I had to do was rub some dawn dish soap on it, let it sit for a lil bit, and rinse it under hot water! After that it was like the stains were never there! It's incredible! And now I have pants again!
It's a great day to be a missionary!
