Week 65 - wait.. where'd the snow go?
Hey guys! This week has been a bit slow due to me being sick, as well as a bunch of meetings and things that new missionaries are expected to attend. But that's ok! We're putting in our full effort, and doing our best.
As the title suggests, the snow melted! It's super strange that the weather has been so nice the last couple weeks but I'm not complaining! The temperature is expected to drop again very suddenly next week, but it was nice having a little break from the cold.
The only other fun thing I have to share this week involves the Morden community Christmas tree lighting! We helped set up some stuff for an orchestra concert (which was pretty good for such a small group in such a small town), and we met some nice people at the event! The biggest surprise was someone who walked right up to us and started talking to us about all sorts of things. Her name is Claudia, and she moved here from Germany! Her husband, Holger, was also super nice. Fun fact about my companion Elder Nielson, he knows a fair amount Arabic. Enough to hold a legit conversation. Fun fact about Holger we learned that night, he ALSO knows Arabic. Why does this guy from Germany living in Canada know Arabic? No idea. But it was a fun talking point and Elder Nielson and Him were able to have a good chat that I understood none of. After that CLAUDIA asked US if we could meet again sometime and talk about the church! Usually it's the other way around and people say no, 1 in 20 might say yes, but instead she asked us! So that was cool. We weren't able to schedule an exact time to meet as we have Zone Conference this week and will be out of our area for a few days, but we have their phone number so I'm sure I'll get to listen to Elder Nielson and Holger have a conversation in Arabic again soon π
That's all for now! It's a great day to be a missionary! (Also Happy Thanksgiving! π¦)
