Week 71 - Happy New Year!!
Hey everyone, happy new year!!! This week has been pretty good. At least, the first bit of it was. We got a lot of work done, met a lot of new people, and some of them are interested in ESL! So that's been pretty good. Unfortunately, I'm sick again. Since this is the 3rd time I've come down with a fever in 6 weeks, I'll likely visit a doctor soon just to be sure there's not something serious going on. I think it's just my luck, as I have been around other sick people just prior to each of the three times, but good to check just in case.
The last cool thing I have to share this week is the big number. How many baptisms did the Canada Winnipeg Mission get in 2023? Well, the answer is 210! The Canada Winnipeg Mission has 4 stakes, and about 52 baptisms per stake. That is the highest ratio of stakes to baptisms in the North America Central Area! The North America Central Area is just a group of 20 missions in, you guessed it, North America. Long story short, out of those 20 missions, we're the best 😎
Not really of course. It's not a competition, and it's not good to compare. But it's pretty cool to see how well we're doing. Our goal for 2024 is 230. Which isn't a lot more than what we hit last year, but there's a lot of good reasoning behind it. Part of it is aligning our goals with the goals of those 4 stakes! Personally, I think we could go for 250, but hey we can just surpass the original goal again. Keep in mind, last year's goal was 150 and we got 210.
That's all for now! It's a great day to be a missionary 😁

Also, here's that cookie recipe I promised:

For context: Mrs. Field is Elder McFadden's Grandma's Friend. And I got the recipe from him.
