Pokémon TCG pt2 - Ice Ice Baby

New Pokémon deck! I figured I'd make a little post about the new changes to the deck I talked about previously, as well as talk about my new deck.

We'll start with the changes to the old one. I got some pretty lucky booster pack draws, and added 2 psychic Zacian V cards, and 1 Dark Sylveon V card. I removed 2 of the Galarian Articunos, and 1 Cresselia in order to make room for them. The Zacian Vs help a lot for getting extra energy using its Roar of the Sword ability, and it also works pretty well as an alternate attacker with its Storm Slash attack. So if I'm struggling to setup Shadow Rider Calyrex VMAX, I can still hold my own pretty well with Zacian V. Dark Sylveon V is there purely for it's Disarming Voice attack, which allows me to confuse the opponent. It's very helpful for hindering my opponent.

my Dark Sylvoeon V and Zacian V cards.

Here's the new deck I got, the Ice Rider Calyrex League Battle Deck:

Ice Rider Calyrex League Battle Deck

This deck is very interesting, and is a little bit harder to use than my other one. The attackers are the Ice Rider Calyrex VMAX cards. They can do 120 damage per energy, but you have to discard the energy after using it. So development is much faster with this deck, but it requires more upkeep throughout the game. One thing that's very interesting is that there's only 9 energies in this deck, while my psychic one has 15. You'd think that'd be a problem, especially since Ice Rider Calyrex VMAX discards energy while Shadow Rider Calyrex VMAX doesn't, but this deck makes up for it by including Capacious Buckets to easily acquire energy, Melony to get energy back from the discard pile, and Drizzile and Inteleon to easily acquire both of those trainers using their Shady Dealings ability. It's a pretty fun deck to play! We haven't played it against my psychic one, but I suspect this one would win. I've also planned out my 3rd deck, and will be building it from scratch. I don't want to spoil what it'll be, but hopefully I can finish building it before I get back and use it on my friends. It'll be really funny if I do, as the strategy I'm basing it around is basically a big prank. Most Pokémon decks win by powering up strong Pokémon and defeating the opponent's Pokémon by dealing a lot of damage with big strong attacks. but the one I'm building won't do that. Once I've built that one my box will probably be full, but since the cards I want are highly specific it'll probably take awhile for me to do that.

Also, my Nana sent me the Corviknight V-Battle deck in a care package! It's a much weaker deck than my other 2, but it'll be nice to have incase I'm going against someone who isn't so good at the game, or doesn't have strong decks. For example, just about any of the Sister Missionaries that play Pokémon. 😂
