Week 38 - Joy has returned to the land

Hey everyone! Guess what?? It's SPRING. FINALLY!! The weather has been in the 70s all week and it's been SO NICE. I can't tell you all how much I missed warm weather. Some people have been complaining saying it's too hot when it's in the upper 70s so I've had to be careful not to accidentally laugh at anyone 🤣. Seriously though, the upper 70s is literally the perfect weather! Going around outside feels so nice! We even helped with some yard work this week and man it felt so good.

Also, we had a huge thunderstorm roll through overnight. It was super cool, there was lightning every few seconds! And the rain was pouring down like a waterfall. The trees have been taking their sweet time to grow their leaves back. Before the thunderstorm everything still looked dead and sad. But the next morning BOOM. GREEN. It makes me so happy seeing green leaves on the trees again! I can see why people like having seasons! It's pretty different from San Diego since there kinda aren't any seasons there. At least not noticeable ones. I wouldn't mind living somewhere where there's real seasons. But winter should definitely be a few months shorter. The first snow was in late October and didn't melt till late April! Noooo thank you. That's far too long. I'll take no seasons over that.

In other news, the work has been good this week! We met a couple new people who are pretty friendly! Hopefully we'll see them again soon. Also, I spent some time writing a script to automate our Word of the Day on the Central Canada English Classes facebook page! I forgot how much I enjoy coding! It's kinda a relief I still enjoy it so much, it would have been awkward if I got back home and started a computer science major just to realize I don't like it anymore 😅.

That's all for now! It's a great day to be a missionary!
