Week 41 - so busy π΅βπ«
Wow it has been so busy. I feel like so much happened I can't remember any of it. We attended another baptism! We taught some interesting lessons, one guy we met doesn't believe in free will, but he keeps coming to church still? He thinks that everything after the big bang is pre determined. As an analogy: if you hit a perfect pool ball into a group of perfect pool balls in the exact same way from the exact same position, it will react the exact same way every time. He says that the same applies to all the matter created by the big bang. It exploded and the way it interacts is all predetermined by the direction and velocity determined in the big bang. We as members of the church don't believe in that because we believe in agency (aka free will) and that it's a gift from God that allows us to learn and grow. He's an interesting fellow, and there's a lot of logical and philosophical issues with not believing in free will, but I'm not going to bore you with all that π
It also rained more, and a member's tree got struck by lightning which was kinda crazy and cool to look at.
Oh also, we helped at the food bank and they sent us home with huge boxes of food and snacks. We have so much junk food now it'll probably last like 4 months π€£
That's all for now! I need to figure out a better time to write these so that I don't have to rush them right before bed lol.
It's a great day to be a missionary!
